About Corsha:
At Corsha we're not just selling software; we're fundamentally reshaping how the most critical industrial and operational technology (OT) systems are secured. We're a cyber startup in the DC area, driven by a mission to bring trust, resilience, and identity to the operational systems that power our world – from factories to power grids. We're building the future of machine identity security.
Have you taken multiple projects from an idea to a deployed product?
Do you have deep expertise in graph-based anomaly detection or training large language models?
Do you have experience in applying statistical methods and machine learning to cyber security?
If so, we’re hiring an experienced data scientist or machine learning engineer to help us build predictive models that will secure critical technology.
What you’ll be:
- A researcher: you’ll dive into the unknown, and solve novel problems related to the application of data science to cybersecurity. You’ll create research plans to identify the best solution to problems where there are no existing solutions.
- A model builder: you’ll have deep technical expertise in several classes of machine learning or statistical models. You’ll be the expert for the team on how to train, evaluate, deploy, and monitor those classes of models.
- A bridge to engineering: you’ll work closely with full-stack and security engineers to capture data and deploy solutions into production.
- A project leader: you’ll be autonomous, and own projects from start to finish.
- An expert in industrial cybersecurity: you’ll become an expert in securing critical network assets using statistics and machine learning. You’ll learn about different kinds of industrial network protocols and security controls, and how to leverage data science to optimize them.
What You’ll Bring:
- 4+ years of experience as a data scientist, machine learning engineer, applied scientist, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the theory behind modern data science: A deep, demonstrable understanding of statistics and/or machine learning, including data processing, model selection, and addressing common modeling issues. When you train a model, you’ve looked under the hood and know how it works. You know the assumptions behind a model and how to validate them (or if they can be validated at all!).
- Deep experience with either graph based models or modern large language models: we’re targeting two sets of skills, and we’re looking for experts in a field (or both).
- The first kind of candidate is an expert in graph or network based methods and algorithms. Strong candidates here will know the different ways to represent a graph in memory, and why you use them. They’ll have good intuition about when different clustering algorithms are most appropriate. Bonus points for experience with graph neural networks and graph embeddings.
- The second kind of candidate has deep experience training large language models (LLMs), and working with LLM systems. We need folks who have hands-on experience with the technical details – how tokenizers work and why they can fail, how LoRa works and when it’s appropriate to use, how to optimize batch sizes and balance the amounts of memory reserved by vLLM (or equivalent). Experience with RAG and Agents is good, but we need that foundational knowledge too.
- If you’ve done both, then that’s even better!
- Knowledge of network and security concepts: while we don’t require candidates to be a cyber expert (but bonus points if you are!), we need people that understand the network stack. If you know the difference between an IP address and a MAC address, and you know about different network protocols, then you’re on good footing. We’ll expect you to earn security certifications as you go, and to become a subject matter expert in industrial cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with Python and SQL. You’ve written production grade code and efficient queries.
- A builder mindset: You want to do more than just write reports – you have built models for production systems. You’ve monitored deployed models, and dealt with model tracking and versioning. You understand what can go wrong when a carefully trained model hits live production data.
- Good engineering practices: Experience with documentation, testing, and version control.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, math, physics, or economics, or a demonstrated mastery of the theory.
- Excellent communication skills to fluidly adapt your message for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bonus Points For:
- OT Expertise: Understanding industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA), control systems, and the unique security challenges of operational technology will set you apart.
- Cybersecurity background. If you’ve used statistics or ML to identify threats in networks, we want to talk to you!
- Deep expertise in time-series analysis: you’re experienced with (causal) impulse response modeling and multivariate time series analysis.
- Experience with network flow and/or packet capture data.
- Experience training Large Language Models (LLMs) or creating AI Agents.
- Golang experience will help you understand the rest of our stack.
- Kubernetes experience to get your models into production.
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
