Reporting to the IT Budget and Procurement Manager, you will assume the role of IT Budget and Procurement Analyst based in either the Cambridge office. As a Procurement Analyst you will be responsible to work as a liaison between the employees and suppliers.

This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work a minimum of 3 days a week in the London office.

In this role you'll be working within the business to:

Budgeting Activities:

  • Constructively challenge spend requests into the IT department, to ensure that we assess all requests and only purchase what is best and most cost effective for the business.
  • Consistently log all spend requests in a budget so that the Budget Manager can build this into the budget.
  • Consistently assess and maintain software licencing, repurposing licences where not being used to mitigate unnecessary Darktrace spend.
  • To track our software licencing assets to enable limiting procurement to where only necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking an accurate list of contract renewals and hardware refreshes to ensure they are correctly budgeted for, and contract negotiations are started in advance of any notice periods.
  • Negotiating the best prices on renewals and new purchases.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly spend reports.

Procurement Activities:

  • Assess business needs and requirements to find suitable vendors by evaluating and analysing potential suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • To ensure all vendors adhere to security approval practices.
  • Facilitate the procurement process ensuring IT, Security and Legal processes are adhered to.
  • Create and maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain purchase records and other important data.
  • Process all purchases of hardware, software and other company assets.
  • Assisting with the evaluation of hardware to determine our list of approved hardware standards and negotiating bud pricing where possible.

Candidate requriements:

  • Procurement administration experience. You will be coordinating the purchasing of multiple new systems within the business at a time.
  • Technical expertise. You should be comfortable in engaging with IT infrastructure and network leads.
  • Strong communication skills along with compliance, confidentiality, and collaboration to ensure the best outcomes can be achieved while working with a Team. A proven track record of confidently communicating both technical and non-technical information to all levels of the business.
