We are looking for a seasoned and visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead our fast-growing development teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing and scaling engineering teams, a deep understanding of cybersecurity, and a track record of delivering high-quality software products. You will play a crucial role in shaping the technical strategy and driving innovation within our organization and also shaping the future of cybersecurity by leading development of best in class security solutions that address the most pressing challenges our customers face.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cyber security & cloud scale SaaS platforms and be passionate about developing best in class innovative products that meet customers’ needs. This position will be responsible for leading the development of offensive security solutions.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Provide strategic leadership to your teams, aligning technical efforts with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute the technology roadmap, ensuring it reflects the company's long-term vision.
Technical Excellence:
- Drive the implementation of best practices in software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing methodologies.
- Ensure the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge in the cybersecurity landscape.
Team Building and Management:
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing software engineering teams.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion professional development initiatives to ensure the growth and success of team members.
Project Management:
- Drive planning, execution, and successful delivery of software projects on time and within budget.
- Implement agile methodologies and establish project management best practices to optimize development processes.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for software development, including code reviews, testing procedures, and documentation.
- Implement strategies to identify and address security vulnerabilities in the development lifecycle.
Security and Compliance:
- Collaborate with security experts to embed robust security practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure software products adhere to industry regulations and compliance standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster effective communication within the engineering team and across departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is welcome.
- 15 years of related work experience including 10 years of people management. Experience with managing multiple engineering teams spread across geographies / locations highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing the full product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing product iterations.
- A keen understanding of user experience, UX design, and a focus on customer delight
- Strong understanding of SaaS Platforms, cybersecurity concepts, techniques, and tools, including knowledge of threat modeling, security testing methodologies, and vulnerability management.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
- Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and cross functional roles for internal and external partnerships.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools.
