The Sr. Director, Federal Managed and Advanced Services (MAS) for the Public Sector at Optiv + ClearShark (OCS) is a seasoned veteran in federally compliant managed services and engineering. This leader has a proven track record in building, launching and running managed services within federally compliant environments and will be responsible for compliant co-managed and managed services, authorized support, help desk and more.

This role will require experience in the sales cycles to drive and win opportunities, the delivery process to ensure quality and drive success, while also continuously shaping the portfolio of offerings. Additionally, this role will be responsible for helping to enhance our client’s overall OCS experience, as well as focusing on opportunities for delivery efficiency. The individual will work closely with the line of business leaders within the Services Business to define the roadmap and strategy of offerings, the Sales Engineering team to assist with evangelizing offerings, and Sales Leadership to ensure enablement, offering value and client satisfaction.

This individual will drive the MAS line of business within the Services organization and will report to and partner with the Vice President of Services to deliver on the growth plan.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Contribute to the growth of the Optiv+ClearShark Services business

  • Lead the delivery of services to assigned client(s) in a cost-effective and efficient manner

  • Drive demand generation across the full portfolio including sales enablement support

  • Achieve financial targets for assigned projects

  • Share appropriate knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients

  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally by writing blog posts, articles, white papers or hosting webinars

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for managed services within federally compliant environments. Provide visionary leadership to ensure alignment with federal regulations and organizational goals.

  • Responsible for the performance of all teams within the MAS portfolio

  • Ensure all managed services adhere to federal compliance standards and regulations, including CMMC, FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST. Implement and monitor risk management practices to safeguard sensitive data.

  • Support the transition of clients requiring federally compliant environments where necessary and enable the MAS to take on commercial clients

  • Design, build, and launch managed services solutions tailored for federal agencies. Oversee the entire lifecycle from inception to operational deployment.

  • Engage with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, identify pain points, and define objectives for the managed services.

  • Develop robust architectures that address the unique challenges of a client environment with detailed design specifications, including technology stack, infrastructure requirements, and integration points that incorporates best practices for scalability, security, and resilience.

  • Design and execute pilot programs or proof-of-concept projects to validate the proposed managed services solutions and achieve authorization to operate where required.

  • Oversee the implementation of managed services solutions, including system configuration, integration with existing systems, and deployment of necessary infrastructure ensuring efficiently and minimizing disruption to client operations.

  • Establish metrics and monitoring systems to track the performance and effectiveness of the managed services.

  • Manage and evaluate relationships with technology vendors to ensure that all components of the managed services are integrated seamlessly.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of service design, implementation processes, compliance measures, and operational procedures.

  • Work with stakeholders (internal/external) to uncover concepts for delivery innovation. Develop processes to help determine how concepts are vetted and executed

  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with federal clients. Understand their needs and ensure the managed services meet or exceed their expectations.

  • Accountable for the overall client life cycle management from sales to delivery for assigned client(s)

  • Review and approve proposal & SOW creation for projects within assigned portfolio

  • Partner with clients to solution & communicate the proper solution blueprint on specific custom deals

  • Oversee MAS demand pipeline and identify cross-sell & up-sell opportunities across client engagements

  • Can handle difficult questions and consistently wins support from client audiences. Can modify and change methodologies as required.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of managed services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. Implement best practices for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and document standardized procedures for all operational activities. Implement best practices and frameworks to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Define and track KPIs that align with organizational and client objectives. Monitor metrics related to service availability, performance, response times, and user satisfaction.

  • Create and utilize performance dashboards to provide real-time visibility into service metrics.

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for all managed services operations. Ensure that service delivery meets or exceeds established benchmarks and client expectations.

  • Identify potential risks and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

  • Assess and forecast resource needs to ensure that infrastructure, personnel, and technology can handle current and future demands. Implement capacity management practices to optimize resource utilization.

  • Define and manage SLAs to set clear expectations for service performance and delivery. Monitor SLA compliance and address any deviations promptly.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of all operational processes, procedures, and configurations. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant personnel.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Drive innovation to enhance managed services offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Able to present to large groups. Speaks as an authority.

  • Support practice areas with the development of new and emerging offerings; or the enhancement of existing offerings.

  • Show the outcomes in business measurable terms of customers consulting the service, using it as an outsourcing partner, or creating hybrid delivery models

  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Recruit, train, and retain top talent.

  • Develop and manage budgets for managed services projects. Allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines.

  • Support activities that promote the overall health and profitability of the Advisory and Technical Services line of business

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • Currently holds or can obtain a Top-Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 15-20 years of related work experience, with 10+ years of information security and professional services experience, 10+ years leading services organizations

  • 10+ years of expert understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI and CMMC, and FedRAMP, and experience supporting or preparing for federal audits

  • Experience selling professional services

  • Experience bringing products to market wholistically with full-scale go-to-market experience preferred

  • Must understand IL constructs and operating in classified environments

  • Previous management experience with foundational knowledge of running an account and P&L

  • Proven experience in pre-sales and post-sales roles

  • Experience in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals and contracts

  • Experience driving large and complex initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research /analysis to building the business and operational plans through to driving execution to success

  • Experience delivering information security consulting engagements

  • Experience building, developing, launching and enhancing Services offerings

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks or projects with limited supervision

  • Ability to work in demanding environments and accomplish objectives

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to collaborate with and unify various groups in order to execute innovation concepts and achieve company goals

  • Strong interpersonal skills
