Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst
As a member of ReliaQuest’s financial planning & analysis (FP&A) team, you will build and contribute to a critical function at RQ, helping to guide the company on its continued high-growth trajectory. In this hands-on, highly visible role, you will support a key analytical function of the company and provide insights to support optimal business decision making at all levels of leadership. You will look at the company’s key performance indicators (KPIs), operations and finances with a critical eye and introduce actions for improvement, serving as a true partner to the business.
The FP&A function will provide financial visibility and support to senior management, including supporting analysis and reporting for board presentations, quarterly financial presentations, industry / peer group comparisons, new business initiatives, financing activities, analysis of acquisitions and other ad hoc projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the VP of Finance to review and develop strategies for the overall growth of the company and evaluate and advise on short- and long-range integrated financial and operational planning
- Partner across other areas of the business, with the ability and willingness to be hands-on and dive deep into the details
- Tactically analyze and strategically assess the company’s financial and operational needs
- Provide financial analysis and guidance on activities, plans, targets and business drivers to department leaders and company management
- Support strategic business decision making through financial modeling and analysis including ad hoc modeling and analysis
- Drive predictability in planning, forecasting, and reporting; constantly improve accuracy by understanding the underlying business drivers, challenging assumptions and solving problems
- Enhance and maintain operational and financial KPIs
- Maintain and continuously enhance the company’s detailed short- and long-term financial forecasts, requiring you to systematically and on a regular basis:
- Analyze actual financial results and key performance indicators in detail and compare them against the forecast and prior period results, identifying the underlying reasons for variances
- Lead discussions with business and functional leaders to:
- Succinctly communicate your analysis
- Understand the business context for financial results and the evolving needs of the business
- Translate financial insights into actionable operational recommendations
- Gather up-to-date inputs for the forecast from multiple sources
- Diligently address any questions and requests for follow-up analysis
- Hold yourself accountable for the accuracy, precision and integrity of the financial forecast and all other analyses and establish a high level of credibility
- Build and strengthen long-term working relationships with:
- Business and functional leaders, who are your “customers” and are critical stakeholders
- Your colleagues within the finance team
- The accounting team
- Be an advocate for continuous team improvement, particularly in our use of technology
- Travel up to 10% of the time
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience in roles with a focus on financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling, including scenario analysis and the ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data
- Strong grasp of financial accounting and the relationships between financial statements
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to think creatively
- Understanding of the linkages between business operations, key performance indicators and reported financial results
- Understanding of GAAP vs. non-GAAP reporting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED)
- Experience in the enterprise software / SaaS industry and familiarity with its key performance indicators
- Experience with Workday Financial Management (ERP system) and Workday Adaptive Planning
- Experience in the public company operating environment and familiarity with its reporting requirements, the guidance setting process and coverage by Wall Street research analysts
- Advanced relevant credentials such as MBA, CPA or CFA
