Why it's worth it:

As a key member of the team, the Senior Accountant will perform various accounting and finance responsibilities. This person will be hands on with all accounting transactions and processes at ReliaQuest to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP and adherence to all accounting policies and controls. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

The everyday hustle:

  • Prepare sales orders and customer invoices
  • Process vendor invoices and input to ERP
  • Administer the purchasing and purchase order process
  • Perform monthly close routines and assist with the management of the monthly close schedule
  • Prepare journal entries to include sufficient documentation/support
  • Maintain various monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules and perform periodic account audits
  • Monitor customer accounts receivable and record payments received
  • Monitor travel and expense tools and ensure adherence to policy
  • Process and assign credit card transactions in ERP and perform monthly reconciliations
  • Analyze and understand complete service offerings and cost sources to ensure proper accounting recognition
  • Prepare financial information for management; Provide research and analysis to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Compile documentation for the annual financial audits
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and provide solutions for enhancement
  • Implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances
  • Provide a high level of customer service and perform other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

  • 2-5 years experience in a public accounting firm or in a corporate accounting & finance department.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • High attention to detail and well organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.); proficient in all MS Office suite core applications
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
  • Willing to independently take on projects and tasks and take full ownership
  • Results-driven with a sense of urgency; Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Basic grasp of accounting principles and how to apply them
