Job Description

As a key member of the team, the Senior Revenue Accountant will perform various accounting and finance responsibilities related to revenue. This person will be hands on with all revenue-related accounting transactions and processes at ReliaQuest to ensure accurate reporting under US GAAP and adherence to all accounting policies and controls.

The everyday hustle:

  • Perform ongoing accounting functions related to recording and recognizing revenue

  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue reports and provide explanations for significant variances and resolve accounting discrepancies

  • Partner with the Finance Team in forecasting revenue and cash inflows, including billings and collections

  • Assist in developing revenue recognition policies and procedures

  • Perform monthly close routines and assist with the management of the monthly close schedule

  • Prepare revenue related journal entries and support

  • Maintain various monthly balance sheet reconciliation schedules and perform periodic account audits

  • Compile documentation for the annual financial audits

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and provide solutions for enhancement

  • Provide a high level of customer service and perform other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate accounting & finance department or in a large public accounting firm

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to think creatively

  • Basic understanding of revenue accounting principles and how to apply them

  • High level of organization, attention to detail and taking ownership

  • Support business processes by partnering with other departments, including Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and Legal

  • Effective written and spoken communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.); proficient in all MS Office suite core applications

  • Ability to deliver results with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in independently taking on projects and tasks and taking full ownership
