What we are looking for:

Semperis is seeking a part-time (10-15 hours per week) Legal Operations Intern with an aptitude for specialized knowledge in systems and operations optimization to support our dynamic Legal team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using technology including AI to improve operations, digital tools, and process improvement. The Intern will play a key role in enhancing our use of platforms including Lexion, CoPilot, and Monday to streamline workflows, manage documentation, and support cross-functional initiatives.

The ideal candidate lives within 30 miles of the Hoboken Headquarter office, and be able to work onsite at the office 2 days of the week.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Managing Counsel and the Associate General Counsel, the Intern will be responsible for:

  • File, categorize, and summarize contracts and other documents within Semperis’ contract lifecycle management system

  • Assist attorneys and contract managers with reviewing and negotiating customer, vendor, and partner agreements

  • Assist with contract and compliance reporting requirements

  • Identify opportunities to improve contract workflows and metadata tagging

  • Integrate and optimize project boards within project management tools across legal and cross-functional teams; dashboards, automations, and task assignments

  • Identify inefficiencies in current legal operations and processes, then propose and implement solutions

  • Assist with documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Support implementation of new tools or enhancements to existing systems

  • Research and test AI functionality in various tools for feasibility

  • Communicate with internal legal clients to close out outstanding tasks

Education:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferable going into Senior year of College

Preferred Experience:

• Prior internship or work experience in a corporation

• Familiarity with project management tech platforms (e.g., Lexion, Monday)

Preferred Skills:

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

• Demonstrate drive for results and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

• Project management experience and tech proficiencies

• Technical aptitude and interest in optimizing digital systems and workflows

• Interest in learning and using internal AI tools to complete tasks
